summary of activities

Our elementary school belongs to the smaller type of school if the number of pupils is concern. At the moment we have 164 pupils in 9 classes (grades). This year it is for the first time that we are taking part in the project: WEEK OF GLOBAL EDUCATION.

The theme "Together for the fair world" is close to everyone. Pupils get information about hard and undignified lives of their coevals from pure countries. We have dedicated time to this main subject at several lessons and free time activities as: computer and geography free activities, art lessons, ethical education and geography lessons during the months of January, February and March. Pupils were involved in researches on the internet, encyclopaedias and other accessible materials and medias. The results of their work were transformed to the following activities:

Creating the postcard gallery together

1st activity
Pupils of 4th and 5th grade were involved. They were creating postcards in a "sketch book" programme - using comparison of the good and bad sides of the children and adult lives.

2nd activity
Pupils of 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th and 9th grade contributed towards the theme by producing handmade postcards.

The most interesting presentation

3rd activity
Pupils of the 8th and 9th grade were creating presentations - concentrating on global human problems.

All the activities were supervised by teachers Mgr. Miroslava Gergelova and Mgr. Otilia Mendelova. The activities lead to the enhancement of the pupil's free activity time and they have gained new knowledge about culture, tradition, living conditions in different countries.
